As a candidate for Portland City Council in District 4, I’m deeply committed to making climate action a top priority.
Our city is facing unprecedented environmental challenges and it’s clear that we need bold, proactive measures to protect our community and our planet. Portland has the opportunity to lead by example, and I am dedicated to implementing innovative solutions that will make our city greener, healthier, and more resilient.
One of my key initiatives is to push for the development of a comprehensive city-wide transition to clean energy. We must accelerate our shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also to create new economic opportunities. By supporting distributed electric production facilities and expanding our electric vehicle charging infrastructure, we can position Portland at the forefront of the clean energy revolution. This will not only benefit our environment but also boost our local economy by creating green, living wage jobs and attracting new businesses focused on sustainability.
I am also committed to advancing policies that make our city more resilient to the impacts of climate change. This includes supporting projects that improve our infrastructure to withstand extreme weather events, investing in flood control systems, and prioritizing sustainable urban planning that reduces our carbon footprint. Portland’s future depends on our ability to adapt and thrive in the face of environmental challenges, and I am ready to lead that charge.
Climate action is not just a policy issue for me—it’s a personal commitment. I have long been an advocate for environmental stewardship, and I believe that every step we take today will make a difference for future generations. If elected, I will work tirelessly to implement these climate initiatives and ensure that Portland remains a leader in sustainability.
Together, we can make Portland a model for climate action. By prioritizing clean energy, community engagement, and resilient infrastructure, we can create a city that is not only livable but also sustainable for years to come. I am excited to bring this vision to District 4 and to work with all of you to make it a reality.
Let’s take bold steps toward a sustainable future for Portland.
